Pokémon TCG: Japanese: 摩天パーフェクト Skyscraping Perfection and 蒼空ストリーム Blue Sky Stream is the name given to the seventh main expansion of cards from the Sword & Shield Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (the Sword & Shield Era in Japan).
The expansion sees the return of Dragon-type Pokémon to the TCG, as well as continued support for the Battle Styles mechanics of Single Strike and Rapid Strike.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game's seventh main Sword & Shield Series expansion, Evolving Skies, was published on August 27, 2021. On July 9, 2021, it was published in Japan as the Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream dual, forming the seventh expansion of the Pokémon Card Game Sword & Shield Era. Evolving Skies includes cards from the Japanese Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream expansions, as well as several cards from the Eevee Heroes subset and unlocalized cards from Peerless Fighters, Silver Lance, and Jet-Black Spirit from Chilling Reign.
The Alloy Pokémon Duraludon and the Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza are featured in the expansion as Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX, respectively, with the former featuring its Gigantamax form. The two are among many Pokémon that belong to the Dragon type, which hasn't been seen in the TCG since the Sun & Moon Series' Cosmic Eclipse expansion. Dragon-type Pokémon still have attacks that can use two different types of energy, but they no longer have Weakness due to the absence of the Fairy type.Claw markings in the upper right corner, a gold-tinged graphic to the left of the Weakness box, and the Dragon-type emblem behind body text on non-variant cards are all features of Dragon-type Pokémon.
The Eeveelutions are also featured in the expansion, with all of them being listed as Pokémon V and several of them appearing on Special Full Art and Pokémon VMAX cards. Some Eeveelutions were not brought over from their parent sets and were sold as SWSH Black Star Promos as independent items of merchandise. Each booster pack for Evolving Skies includes ten cards from the expansion, a basic Energy card, and a code card for use in the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. Five cards from each expansion are included in each Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream bundle.
Gyarados (Japanese: ギャラドス Gyarados) is a dual-type Water/Flying Type introduced in Generation I.
It evolves from Magikarp.
Gyarados can Mega Evolve into Mega Gyarados.
Gyarados is a serpentine Pokémon with a long body covered in scales that slightly overlap. It has a row of yellow spots down each side and is predominantly blue with a yellow underbelly. It has a wide, gaping mouth with four pointed teeth and yellow lips. On either side of its face, it features one barbel and a little white fin. A female's barbels are white, while a male's are tan. It features four white, spiky dorsal fins, a three-pointed dark blue crest on its head, and small red eyes. The structure of Gyarados' tail fin is similar to the crest on its head, with the exception of a thin, white fin distributed between the points.
Evolution has caused a shift in its brain structure, which is thought to be the source of its violent behavior. Gyarados' fangs are capable of crushing stones, and its scales are as hard as steel. Gyarados is feared for his ferocious temper and destructive nature. It appears during times of war and devastates the land around it. Its outbursts have been known to last up to a month. Gyarados may be found in both freshwater and saltwater. Gyarados and its Mega form have shown in the anime that they can leap enormous lengths from both the sea and the ground, frequently several times their own body length.
Gyarados becomes bulkier when it Mega Evolves. The fins on its cheeks grow longer and golden in color. Its crest has grown in size and color, and its barbels have grown in length. It now has a black bottom with a red stripe along the borders, and a big spike extends downward behind its chin. Mega Gyarados' yellow patches are replaced with elevated crimson scales that propel it through the water. On its back, it has two huge yellow fins with blue spines. The majority of the other fins on its back vanish, leaving two rows of blue spikes in their place.
Near its tail, it now has four yellowish, spiky fins: two on the back and two on the underside. Despite the fact that its brain has a strong destructive instinct, it will obey a Trainer it trusts. Mega Gyarados shares the title of tallest Dark-type with Hoopa Unbound.
